A Good Day to Propose

It’s Saturday the 27th and Daciana is enjoying a girls lunch in St Augustine at the Columbia Restaurant. Her boyfriend lives in Michigan and she misses him very much. Their relationship is growing stronger and she thinks he might propose in the near future. She has no idea that today is The Day! He is in Michigan, right? They were facetiming earlier and nothing seemed unusual. Wait… why is the restaurant staff singing and clapping? And I hear a guitar… and that voice singing? I know that voice! Is that… him? And here he comes, on the sounds of Bruno Mars’ “Marry Me”, singing with passion and lights in the eyes. On his knee, he gave her a most beautiful ring and asked her to be his bride. She said yes. The other restaurant guests are smiling, standing up, taking pictures and clapping. For a few minutes they aren’t just strangers anymore, they are an important part of the story and some of them are coming to say best wishes.

As we are walking through the city, I am photographing them savoring the first moments as newly engaged couple.
